Upper Antelope Slot Canyon Photo Tour
Upper Antelope Canyon in Page, Arizona, is the most famous slot canyon formation in all the world, and for good reason: it’s swirling shapes and soothing colors inspire introspection and reflection, and appreciation for the artistry of time, wind, and water. Yet would you believe that Upper Antelope Canyon is only 100 yards long? That’s it — 100 yards. Though unrivaled in its beauty, it represents only a tiny fraction of the multi-faceted Antelope Creek drainage. To get a sense of Antelope Canyon as a whole, and understand its connection to the Glen Canyon ecosystem, you must see it from both land and water.

Antelope Canyon Tours is a Navajo owned and operated, providing guided tours from Page, Arizona. Our tours into the Upper Antelope Canyon begin at our office located at 22 South Lake Powell Boulevard, near the intersection of Lake Powell Boulevard and North Navajo Drive in the heart of Page, AZ. Look for the monster trucks! Iconic locations in this area include Upper Antelope Canyon, Lake Powell, and Horseshoe Bend. These three locations will be the focus of our two day, two night workshop. We will tour the slot canyons of Antelope Canyon the first day before traveling to the Lake Powell to photograph the sunset and the night sky.
On the Upper Antelope Canyon Land + Boat Tour, you will experience the iconic slot canyon scenery that made Antelope Canyon famous, and see the where the flood waters that continuously carve it finally end up. After checking in at Chief Tsosie’s Antelope Slot Canyon Tours in downtown Page, AZ, you’ll be transported by custom touring vehicle to the mouth of Upper Antelope Canyon. The 2-mile ride in from the Navajo Tribal Park Entrance on US98 can get pretty exciting, so hold onto your hat! Upon disembarking, you’ll be led by a Navajo Indian guide through the halls and chambers of Upper Antelope Canyon. Since the trail through it is mostly flat, even visitors with limited mobility can enjoy this walk. Though this is not a photography tour, per se, your guide can usually indicate where the best photo ops are, and may even supply guidance as to how to get the most from your pictures.
After returning to Page, AZ, at the conclusion of your trip to Upper Antelope, you’ll then be supplied with directions to Antelope Point Marina for the waterside component of your tour. After checking in at the tour boat desk, located inside the Antelope Point Marina Visitors Center, a guest services attendant will offer to drive you down to the departure dock if you desire. Upon boarding your open-air tour boat, you’ll turn off the main channel of Lake Powell into Antelope Canyon itself! As you float between red sandstone walls rising high above you, look ahead of and notice how the same canyon walls become narrower and narrower. Along the way, your tour boat captain will inform you about how Glen Canyon and the surrounding landscape was formed, and how the introduction of Lake Powell made it even more accessible than it was in its natural state. Eventually, the passageway becomes so narrow, you might wonder if your boat has enough room to turn around! Not to worry – your U.S. Coast Guard certified captain has the experience and the expertise to get you headed back toward Antelope Point Marina in safety and comfort. Complimentary water is supplied on the tour boat, and snack packs are available for purchase.
After your tour, you are welcome to linger at Antelope Point Marina for as long as you wish. Take a walk around the boat dock, or enjoy a leisurely lunch at one of Antelope Point Marina’s food and beverage outlets, such as The Point Restaurant, Grandma Betty’s or The Sandbar Lounge. Don’t forget to grab a souvenir of your visit in the Marina gift shop. When you are ready to return to your vehicle, you can opt to walk up the ramp, or ask a marina employee to summon a guest services attendant to drive you back up.
What could possibly be better than all this amazing scenery? The fact that you didn’t have to call around to a bunch of different tour operators in order to put it all together. The bookings for both tour components were taken care of in one easy and convenient reservation. So make your easy + convenient reservation now for the Upper Antelope Canyon + Boat Tour!
